Post 9 - Final Reflection

Final Reflection
During my experience at Block Institute I've learned to become more independent, active and even more responsible. At the beginning of my internship my goals were to gain the best experiences and gain the knowledge, I would need in future and I’ve achieved those goals by being responsible at my internship Because sometimes in life things may not come to you the way you expect them, things always come more than you expected you might think of them a big problem but you just need to give a try and those problems automatic get solved.

The basic skills I've gained during this internship are being independent and communication by talking to my supervisor and with other staff I was good ask them for help but I always tried to do all work by my own, this way I become more independent.

Getting to know my supervisor was the best thing that could have ever happen to me. I had a strong relationship with my supervisor and I think I will keep it that way. My supervisor had tough me so many different thing which makes you more professional. I had so many problems on my internship at the begging but I solved them by my supervisor help and also by myself and I think I know all those well. Spending 125 hours at my internship helped me understand real life work. It was very fun at some typical days but hard to do so much work.

After high school, my goal is to go to college. This internship has taught me the real skills in order to succeed in life. During the internship I've faced many challenges and those challenges had left me some knowledge and I think challenges are best way to gain knowledge because we always learn from hard time or from the dark time of our life. Hard time make you realize other mistakes you had made and give you more sense.

If I were to do a brand new internship next week, what I would do differently is to be more confident then I was. My advice to every interns who will be intern somewhere, Learn from your mistakes and use them to make your life easy and always think wisely about the decisions you make because time go so fast and you won’t get any chance or you couldn’t change the decisions you made. Be patient how things come to you, don't rush. I would truly miss my internship.

Dear Mr. Emerson Armstrong,

I also want to thank the entire staff for taking the time to share their expertise and knowledge. I have learned so much from you that it is difficult to put it into words.
Your supervision throughout the internship helped me to further develop my writing, organization, and communication skills. I also got better using Microsoft Word and Excel. The experience I gained was more than I could have expected. This internship has definitely increased my knowledge, skills.

Post 6 - Essay Photo

Essay Photo

This is the machine I use to print and scan files. When I first start my internship I didn't know how to use it. Then I was adapting to it more than other. I make copies and scan many files for my supervisor using this machine. Most of my work was on it Because my supervisor told me that I needed to understand how it work and learn how to use it and that's exactly what I did.

My supervisor (Emerson Armstrong) in his office he is so nice-friendly he always help me anything I were need. He always shows concern for the staff and creates a good working environment. My supervisor understands when if I need to be flexible with my work hours and he always appreciates the work I do.

Finally my office it was mad dirty at this time but it’s not how it look usually I always keep it clean and do all my work in it. It is good that I have my personal computer which I use to manage the files I scan and Manage things about Medicaid, checking Medicaid for consumers, put pictures into applications.

Post 4 - Midpoint Reflection

Midpoint Reflection

The primary mission of Block Institute is to assist in improving the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families; I think if my organization didn’t exist there might no one assist improving the quality of individuals, disabilities life and might no one train them for many different jobs. It is very similar to what I expected before I started. I thought about organize files, tag, and pack files for ship out and a separate office on a separate computer. I have learned new skills from this internship that can be used to apply for another job such as I have learned how to communicate with people in a right way, Manage things about Medicaid, checking Medicaid for consumers, put pictures into applications as well as putting information from old forms to new ones. The environment in my Internship is pretty similar to my school environment. I usually speak English at all the time to communicate because no one speak my language in there and I think it has improved my English skills.  My relationship with my mentor and co-workers is pretty well. We all behave friendly, neighborly. We do have respect for each other. My internship also has taught me how to behave well and communicate with professional, individuals with developmental disabilities. Internship has effected on my daily life & school work because we don’t really get enough classes to finish our assignments rather finishing them at school I do at home. In the next five weeks left, I am hoping willing to improve my schedule, time management.

lot of work I do at my Internship
